William M. Jones
Dies at Humboldt
HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — William Marvin (Bill) Jones, 58, died about noon Monday of a heart attack in a local doctor's office, in just a few minutes after having been brought in from the field where he had been picking cotton. He had been in declining health for a number of years.
He was the husband of Mrs. Katie Maitland Jones. Born and reared in Huntsville, Ala., he was the son of Mrs. Annie Hibden Jones and the late Percy Jones. He had lived in Humboldt for 31 years, and was a retired machine operator in the textile industry. He was a member of Central Baptist Church at Florence, Ala.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Billy Jones of Denver, Colo.; his mother, Mrs. Annie Jones Ford of Dallas, Tex.; one brother, T. J. Jones also of Dallas; and one sister, Mrs. Annie Mae Lamb, of Houston, Tex.; four half-brothers, Bob Ford and Bennie Ford, both of Waco, Tex., Jack Ford of Houston and B. Ford of Dallas.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, pending arrival of relatives, but will be held at Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Henry Smith, pastor of First Missionary Church of Humboldt, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Body will be at the funeral home until time for funeral.
