Greenleaf - The funeral for Mrs. Alwena L Kappelman, 85, 402 Tulane, Salina, will be at 2 pm Saturday at the Tauber-Ward funeral home here.

Mrs. Kappelman died Thursday at Geary County hosptial, Junction City. She was born June 24th, 1891 in Linn.
She was a member of the Methodist Church in Greenleaf.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs Earl Kretz, 402 Tulane, and Mrs. Bill Clinton, Los Angeles, Calif, 3 sisters, Mrs Malinda Pronske, Seal Beach Calif,; Mrs. Carroll Conklin, Hutchinson, and Mrs, Ada Sizemore, Newton; 2 grand-children and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Alwena Kappelman, 81, 402 Tulane, is the proud recipient of a thank-you note from Mrs. Julie Nixon Eisenhower.
Mrs. Kappelman, who lives with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Kretz, sent Mrs. Eisenhower an embroidered baby quilt and matching pillow.
The note accompanied by a recent color photograph of the entire Nixon family autographed by Mrs. Nixon, said in part: "David and I are deeply touched that you sent us this exquisitely embroidered quilt and know that your beautiful gift will always have a special place in our home"
Mrs. Kretz said her mother has been an admirer of the Eisenhower family for many years. Mrs. Kappelman has made more than 150 quilts.
