The measure of a man
cannot be found in any book,
Nor in the way he walked and talked
or by his worldly looks.
It's by what he did for others
and the memories left behind;
His gentleness, compassion
and the keenness of his mind.
You served your country proudly
through peacetime and in war,
Through 20 years of service
in your proud and honored Corps.
You gave yourself to many things,
five children and a wife;
You gave us loving memories
to last throughout this life.
You fought life's battles bravely
--you gave them all your best;
And now among your comrades,
at peace you finally rest.
