Delilah was the Daughter of Thomas Carver and Lutshia Watson Carver Wooten.

She married William C. Taff, March 12, 1840 at Cook Station, Crawford County, Missouri under a tree on his land, and this is where they are both buried, the site was later deeded as Taff Cemetery.

She was the Mother of 11 children. They are as follows, Julia Ann Taff Roberts, Luticia Emmaline Taff Freeman, Thomas Jefferson, Rebecca Taff, Martha Elizabeth Taff Ross, George W., John Wesley, ,Lewis C., Rachel Caroline Taff Mayberry, Mary Margaret and James Richard Taff.
