Melvin Offield, 48, of 5709 Avenue D died in a local hospital Thursday night. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mrs. Viola Offield; one son, Joe David Offield; one daughter, Wanda Sue Offield, all of Cameron; two brothers, Burford Offield, Cameron and Bud Offield, Rockdale; and three sisters, Mrs. W.B. Tyler,Hearane, Mrs. J.R. Tyler, Cotulla and Mrs.C.B. Gilbert,Cameron. The body was taken to Rockdale by Hyltin-Manor Funeral Home and services were held Friday at Phillips-Luckey Chapel.
