Hubert Andrew Pfannenstiel, 79, Ness City, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City. He was born Dec. 14, 1926, to Alex and Agatha (Stoecklein) Pfannenstiel.

He married Ann Ruffhead-Leiker on Aug. 17, 1968, in La Crosse. He was a farmer and a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Dustin Pfannenstiel, Ness City; a daughter, Anissa Chacon, Ness City; two step sons, David Leiker and Donald Leiker, both of Ness City; a brother, Marvin Pfannenstiel, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Agnes Pfannenstiel, Ness City; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Ness City; burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.

Memorials are suggested to the Ness County Hospital or the Ness County Long Term Care, Ness City.
