Thomas Jackson "Jack" Brashears, 75, of 311 Michael, Springdale, died April 26, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center at Springdale. He was born August 13, 1924 at Elkins, the son of Bruce Sumner and Eva May Tucker Brashears. He was a veteran of World War Two and Korea serving in the United States Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springdale, and retired from Tyson's after 34 years of service having been the first serviceman for Tyson's. He was a volunteer at the Jones Center for Families, a tutor at Jones Elementary School and a longtime member of the Friday Night Fishing Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Thelma Faye Crowder Brashears and by one grandson, Brent William Clark; two brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Shirley A. Pearson Brashears of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan Carol and A. L. Clark of Springdale, and Sara Ann Brashears of Fayetteville; two stepsons, Bill Robertson of Rogers and Dr. Bob Robertson of Montgomery, Alabama; two grandsons Bryan Clark of Springdale and Jackson of Fayetteville; one granddaughter, Jessica of Fayetteville and one great-grandson, Jared Clark of Springdale and six step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29th at the First Baptist Church at Springdale with Rev. Charlie Foster officiating. Interment was in the Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home at Huntsville. Pallbearers were Poke Knight, Bob Baskin, Bromo Wilson, David Howard, Sherril Shaver and Jack Ivy.
