Almond, Mona Lee (née MacNutt) of Kincardine passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine on May 29, 2015, a few weeks after her 85th birthday.

Wife of the late Robin McLeod, the late Bennett Almond and most recently her loving spouse and partner of 12 years, the late Wally Collins.

Dear mother, Special extended family mother and very special "pansy" grandmother.

Fondly remembered by grandchildren and great grandson Gordon.

Mona was raised in Westville, Nova Scotia, the youngest of 8 children. In her teen years she moved to Toronto with her brother Harley and sister Doris. She had a 25-year career with the TD Bank.

In 1977 Mona remarried and moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she lived until 2011.

After Wally died, Mona's health was failing, so she moved to Kincardine to be close to her family. Mona loved to work in her flower garden, having one of the finest in Columbus and at Trillium Court, where she lived most recently and made a number of friends as an active member of the Trillium community. She also loved to care for stray cats.

Mona will be especially remembered as a loving grandmother who always gives the best hugs.

A private family funeral service was held May 30, followed by burial at Kincardine Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Allies for Alleys Cat Adoption Centre in Kincardine or the Kincardine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
