Martha was the daughter of Iver and Elsie Andersdatter Simonson. She married George Jacquot and was the mother of 6 Children: Mable Fox, George, Myrtle Bergeson, Elsie Nelson (my grandmother), Earl, and Bernice Gootee. She lived most of her life in El Dorado Iowa and late in their lives they moved to West Union, Iowa. I recently put together a scapbook for my mother and went through all of these pictures, on the back of one of the pictures of Martha my grandmother made a note of how much she loved her mother and what a rough life she had lived. She loved the Lord and was loved very much by her family. She was a midwife, hotel owner, cook and seamstress. Her mother helped her with daily tasks around the home to help ease her burdens.
