She graduated from Lumberton High School in 1987 where she was in the band and a twirler. Later she attended Lamar University from 1987 through 1988; she was also a twirler for Lamar.
She attended Angelina Police Academy and graduated with Valedictorian and Top Marksman honors in 2004. Later she was employed with Polk County Sheriff's Office and was a Coldspring Independent School District Police Officer before transferring to the City of Livingston Police Department. She was recently promoted to FTO, Livingston Police Department Training Officer.
