Betty Castro

Betty Marie Castro, a drug rehabilitation counselor who lived in Redwood City for the past four years, died suddenly at Seton Hospital in Daly City Friday. She was 60.


Mrs. Castro was born in Indianapolis, Ind., and lived in San Francisco before moving to the Peninsula. She worked as a counselor at Serenity Inc, a drug rehabilitation center in Redwood City.


Mrs. Castro was a member of the Redwood City First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by two sons, Buck Richard Castro of Alameda and Terry Alien Castro of Redwood City; and two daughters, Juanita Diane Smith of Salt Lake City and Mary Louis Castro of Redwood City.


Graveside service were to be held Monday at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo. Arrangements were made by White Oaks Chapel in San Carlos.
