Abbott, Marlin "Don-Actually" Born Sept. 16, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN. Proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Retiring from NWA after 46 years. His career expanded from radio tech., A/P mechanic, foreman/ crew chief, president of IAM, Anchorage, AK, flight engineer Tokyo, Japan, and pilot. Don was director of Second Officer Training for 18 years, also training pilots for many foreign airlines, past retirement age he helped trained Republic pilots in their transition to NWA. His passions included flying, travel, photography and his lake home at Lake Francis. He is survived by wife, Lois; sons, Daniel, David and Michael (Rebecca); 8 grandchildren, Kevin (Megan), Meghan, Daniel, Sam, Lindsea, Dan, Dylan and Shane; brothers-in-law, Don (Lois) Gonner and Howard Hanson; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Member of American Legion, VFW, MN National Guard and RNPA. Published in Star Tribune on February 3, 2008
