Bobby Leroy Allen, 88, widower of Mary L. Allen, died Monday, November 14, 2022, at McLeod Health Clarendon.


Born August 19, 1934, in Woodruff, he was a son of the late Elbert and Lillie Allen. He was a member of New Start Community Church of the Nazarene. He retired from Black River Electric Cooperative and was the owner of Allen's Crafts. He was a member of F-Troop Camping Club and a member and past president of the Sumter Crafters Guild. He was a U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force veteran and served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.


Survivors include three children, Doug Allen, David Allen (Sonia), and Donna Inabinet (John) all of Sumter; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and his faithful furbaby, Harley-Berry.


He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Allen. 


A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Donna Green officiating.


The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
