Patricia E. O'Connell
STAATSBURG- Patricia E. O'Connell, 66, a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.
She was employed as a cook in the kitchen at F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park for 34 years.
Mrs. O'Connell belonged to Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park. She was an avid bingo player and was very devoted to her family.
Born in Poughkeepsie on Dec. 3, 1935, she was the daughter of Daniel and Anna Rogers O'Connell.
On June 8, 1953, she married Lawrence D. O'Connell in Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park. Mr. O'Connell survives at home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Marie Lane and husband, Arthur of Lake Katrine, N.Y.; a son, Lawrence O'Connell and wife, Eileen of Red Hook; six grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, Corey and Julia O' Connell, Kerry Lane, and Brian Elmendorf; two brothers, Daniel O'Connell and wife, MaryAnn of Florida and Joseph O'Connell and wife Joanne of Florida; an aunt, Anna Bartula of Staatsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Elmendorf, in 1993.
Calling hours will be Thursday, June 27, from 6-9 p.m. at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at Regina Coeli Church, Route 9, Hyde Park.
Burial will be in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
