Mrs Martha Hatcher Weadon died Tuesday evening in the Alexandria Hospital at Alexandria. She was in Alexandria on a visit when she fill on july 18 and broke her hip. Since that time she had been confined.
Mrs Weadon was a native of Floyd County, born April 26 1875, a daughter of the late William Hatcher and Mary Radford Hatcher. Since 1909 she had made her home in Danville and resided at 1011 Claiborne Street. She was a member of the Methodist faith.
William L Weadon, her husband, preceded her to the grave in 1932.
Surviving are the following children: William Herman Weadon and Mrs W B Lunceford of Alexandria and Leland D Weadon of Van Nuys, Calif. She also leaves three sisters: Mrs Joseph Hilliard and Mrs Harry DeLong of Danville, and Mrs Peyton Hurd of Blacksburg. Twelve grand children and two great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home and Interment will be in Greenhill cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home.
