Ernest A. Harvey Passes After Illness
Ernest Alton Harvey, 44, died Saturday, October 4, at his home near Oneonta, after a long illness. Mr. Harvey, a farmer, merchant and carpenter, was reared on Straight Mountain, the son of Vandiver and Hulda Tolbert Harvey. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a deacon. He was married to the former Miss Nell Bellew. He is survived by his sons, Tommy, Bobby and Danny, and one daughter, Miss Rilla Harvey, all of Rt. 4 Oneonta; one brother, Herman Harvey, Rt. 4 Oneonta; four sisters, Mrs. W. C. Washburn, Steele, Mrs. D. W. Gargus and Mrs. Tyrie Bellew of Rt. 4, Oneonta, and Mrs. R. S. Bellew, Rt. 2 Springville. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00 o'clock, at Mt. Carmel, Revs. D. M. Blalock, Walter Moorer and Ernest Washburn conducting. Interment was in adjoining cemetery, Chambers Brown Service Funeral Home in charge. Active pallbearers were Ray Bellew, Eldon Washburn, Pat Bellew, Birl Gargus, Alton Gargus and Troy Bellew.
