Born on December 3, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late U.S. Senator, Roman L. Hruska, Sr., and the late Victoria Hruska. After graduating from high school in Washington D.C., she attended Hood College in Frederick, MD for two years. She then transferred to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she received a B.A. in Political Science in 1959. She was an Executive Assistant at the Republican National Committee, a Deputy Scheduler at the Congressional Campaign Committee, and the Washington Manager for the Whitaker & Baxter Public Relations firm. In 1968, she joined the White House staff as Executive Secretary to the Assistant to the President for Domestic Affairs.
In 1977, she named Assistant to the President of the American Enterprise Institute followed by a position as Assistant to the President of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association. In 1985, she became the Director of Administration for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation where she remained until 1987 when she moved to Maryland's Eastern Shore with her husband, Charles Fagan (1929-2012).
A memorial service was held at Fellows, Helfenbein, & Newnam Funeral Home, Easton on Thursday, April 26, 2001. Burial was private.
