Nedra G. Carney, 81, Neosho, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Freeman Neosho Hospital following a sudden illness.

Nedra was born Dec. 16, 1926, in Jenkins, Mo., the daughter of George A. and Mamie (Phillips) Cope. She attended Franklin Technical School in Joplin, graduating in 1967 as a LPN, and worked at Sale Memorial Hospital from 1968 to 1988, then worked at the Neosho Senior Center and at Medicalodge. She was a former member of Northside Baptist Church, having been a member for 25 years and had been active in Sunday School, WMU, Church Training, Girls Auxillary and YWA's. She currently was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, having been a charter member and was an active and faithful member until her death.

She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Stuckey, Neosho; two sons, Randy Carney and wife, Cecelia, La Quinta, Calif., and Ron Carney and wife, Rustine, Cyclone; two brothers, Lynn Cope, Napa, Idaho, and Jerry Cope, Kerrville, Tenn.; one sister, Anita Coy, Blackwell, Okla.; five grandchildren, Chad Stuckey and Lori Stuckey, Overland Park, Kan., Brett Stuckey, Tulsa, Okla., Dr. Robyn Catagnus and husband, John, Pennsylvania, Penn., Ashley Carney, Portland, Ore., and Aaron Carney, La Quinta, and six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob and Jillian Stuckey, Overland Park, Allison Carney, Portland, and Oliver and Nolan Catagnus, Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, George and Mamie Cope, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Carney; two brothers, Loy Cope and Coy Cope; and two sisters, Pauline Ennis and Norma Eden.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Fellowship Baptist Church, Pastor Buddy Funk and Pastor Alan Brock will officiate.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Osea Cemetery, Crane, Mo.

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
