David T. Balot, 78, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday morning, July 5, 2017 in the Werson Funeral Home, 635 North Wood Avenue, Linden from 9 AM to 11 AM at which time the Funeral Service will take place. Interment will follow at Rosedale Memorial Park, Linden, NJ.Mr. Balot was born in the Victoria Tarlac Philippines, lived in Elizabeth for the past 49 years, prior Newark, NJ. He was employed by Interbake Foods in Elizabeth, NJ as a Hoist Lift Engineer for 29 years retiring in 2004. Prior, he was employed by Post and Sherman in Elizabeth as a Material Handler for 11 years. He attended Baranger High School in Newark, NJ. Mr. Balot was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 68 AFL-CIO. Mr. Balot enjoyed music, politics, and "a good brew" at times, and his prime steak. He was predeceased by his wife Nora M. (Murphy) Balot on June 21, 2009, his parents Francisco M. and Catherine (Gallagher) Balot, his brother Frank Balot in February 1996, and his brother-in-law Antonio Monsalud in 2015. Surviving are his beloved wife Julia C. Balot, 2 brothers, Quentin Balot and his wife Betty, and Andres Balot, 5 sisters, Virginia Abad and her husband Mariano, Patricia Relova and her husband Oscar, Anita Monsalud, Veronica Balot, Adele Acutanza, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
