CHERRYVILLE: Alda Maggie Correll Deveney, 87, of Brian Center, Lincolnton, formerly of Maple Street, Cherryville, died Sept. 4, 2001, at her residence. She was a native of Lincoln County, daughter of the late Frank and Julia Correll, wife of the late Lester Lee Deveney, retired winder for Howell Mill, member of First Baptist Church of Cherryville.
Survivors: Son, Charles Deveney, Cherryville; daughter, Carolyn Mayhew, Cherryville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Preceded in Death by: Brothers and sisters. Funeral: 3 p.m. Friday, First Baptist Church, Rev. Perry Holleman. Burial: City Memorial Cemetery.
