Luther Cruit Services to Be Held Friday
Luther W. Cruit, 89, of Shelbyville died at 11:55 p.m. Monday in the Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Lockart & Sons Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville.
Mr. Cruit was born on Dec. 29, 1891 in Shelby County, a son of Edmond and Lydia Truitt Cruit.
He married Addie Auld on March 2, 1918 in Charleston.
He was employed by the New York Central Railroad for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville.
Surviving are: his wife; sons, Robert of East Moline and Donald of Sacremento, Cal.; daughters, Mrs. Paul (Evelyn) Dobson of Champaign and Mrs. Orvel (Elizabeth) Sphar of Attica, N. Y.; sister Lula Maxwell of Cooper City, Fla.; half-brother, Lester Kingston of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
One brother and one granddaughter preceded him in death.
