Ellsworth American Obituary of 9 December 1869:

Died in Eastbrook, Maine, Nov. 27th, 1869, of Consumption, Sister Lavinia R., wife of Br. Thomas H. Kelley, of Andover Mass., aged 24 years 5 months and 19 days. She left her home early in the summer to visit her friends in Maine, in hopes of improving her health, but only to be disappointed. Every means was tried but in vain to stay the progress of the desease, which though slow, was certain in its results. Sister H. gave her heart to the Saviour, was baptized by Rev. Henry A. Cooke and united with the K. C. Baptist Church in Lawrence, Mass., in June 1865 of which she remained one of its most faithful members till she left to join the Church above. She often spoke of her departure with the utmost confidence in God in whom she had put her trust and was willing to leave all her friends on earth, to be with Christ. Sister H. leaves a companion, parents, brothers and sisters, and many friends, to mourn their loss. May God bless them and may they all meet her in heaven. Funeral service by the writer. E. Harding."
