Mary Lena Wells was a daughter of Samuel and Emma Forest Wells. She had four brothers, William Jennings Wells, Walter Lewis Wells, Maurice Edward Wells, and James Woodrow Wilson Wells of Goode Va.; and two sisters, Lillie Bell Wells Coles of Lynchburg, Va., and Gertrude Wells Haynes of Goode, Va.

She was the mother of five children... Lois Jane Wells and Patricia Ann Wells of Goode, Va.(father: Opha Staples Brown); William Henry Snead Wells of Lynchburg, Va., Verneice Wells of Washington, D.C., and James Edward Wells of Washington, D.C.(father: Bernard Fawcett Snead).

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 9, 1987 at 1:00 P.M. at The First Baptist Church of Goode, Va. where at an early age she was converted, baptized and remained a member until her death. Rev. Leonard Yuille presided and internment followed in the adjoining church cemetery; arrangements by The Bedford Funeral Home (434-586-9167).
