Daughter of Charles Clarence & Margaret Emma (Grow) Abbott


Lucille "Lucy" Helen Ransom, 77, passed away at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC, on Thursday, November 17, 2016. She was born in Trenton, MI to the late Charles Clarence and Margaret Emma Grow Abbott, on April 21, 1939.


She was preceded in death by her five brothers: Robert, Harvey, Claude, Mickey, and Arnold Abbott. She is survived by a son David Alan Ransom and wife Linda of Fort Mill, SC, and a daughter Mary Kay Rowell and Husband Dennis of Rock Hill, SC. She is also leaving behind three grandchildren Joshua and Jeremy Bemis, and Travis Rowell; and four great-grandchildren Cameron, Jacob, Brody, and Alexis Bemis.


She attended Central Church of God for several years. She is an Army Veteran and retired from the Navy on April 20, 1999. Lucy was the co-owner of Fire House Deli, Lucy's Consignment, and Lucy Ransom Realty Broker in Charge.


A visitation will be held Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 6-8 PM, at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC. A funeral service will be held Monday, November 21, 2016, at 2PM, at the Central Church of God in Charlotte, NC. An inurnment with full military honors will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11AM, at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill, SC.
