Funeral services for Versielee Marie "Bert" Clark, age 76, will be held on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel in Tahlequah, with Pastor Jack McComb of Shawnee Rd Church of God officiating. Interment will follow at the Church of Jesus Christ Cemetery in Welling, OK. Services are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah.Pallbearers for Versie will be Ray Green, Jeremy Green, Joseph E. Green, Aubrey Ray Green, Rick Ewing, and Anthony Bowling. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Bonham and Jason Clark.Versilee Marie "Bert" Clark was born on December 27, 1931 in Provencal, LA, the daughter of William Cleveland and Elizabeth Idellie (Sewell) Cobb. She married Aubrey Ray Green and together they were blessed with three children. He preceded her in death in 1963. Versie then moved to Natchitoches, LA. She married her second husband, Raymond Martin, and they were blessed with two sons. After Raymond's death, Versie moved to Muskogee, OK. Ten years later, on March 27th, 1999, she married her present husband, Dewey Edward Clark in Muskogee, OK. Versie, or Mama Bert as she was affectionately known, was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word. She was an accomplished seamstress and an exceptional cook. Her biscuits, gumbo, jambalaya, tomato gravy and banana pudding were delightful. She could always be counted on to help with any church function and loved serving the Lord in her own way. She sewed clothes for all her kids and enjoyed reading a good book. Versie collected dolls and had a beautiful collection of dolls. She doted on her animal friends, her pug "Lucky", her cat "Heidi", and her pitbull "Rambo". But Versie was happiest just spending time with her family. She was truly devoted to them and loved every moment spent in their presence. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Muskogee and also attended the Cross Church of God and the Shawnee Road Church of God in Muskogee. She was called to her final home on Tuesday, April, 15th, 2008 in Muskogee, OK.Those preceding her in death include her parents, her first husband Aubrey Ray Green, her second husband Raymond Martin, their son, David Wayne Martin, her stepson, Raymond Clark, and her stepdaughter, Jan Bernhardt.Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Dewey of the home in Muskogee, four beloved children, Jimmie Green and wife Cora of Muskogee, Danny Green and wife Sandy of Welling, OK, Joseph and Becky Green of Joshua, TX, and Ricky Martin and friend Sandra Wing of Muskogee, OK. There are eight step-children, a special brother, Willie Cobb and wife Julie of Haughton, LA, thirteen grandchildren, 32 step grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and numerous step great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones.
