James DeWitt Clinton, 88, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Modena, was found dead in bed in his home on Wednesday morning. He had retired in apparent good health. Coroner L. Dubois gave as the cause of death, a heart attack. Born in Modena, a son of Charles and Alice McHugh Clinton, he is survived by his widow, Margaret Costello Clinton; four sons, George of New Paltz; Thomas and LeRoy of Walden, and Harry Clinton of Poughkeepsie, and seven daughters, Mrs. Henry Alsdorf and Mrs. Sidney Wells of Walden; Mrs. George F. Anderson and Mrs. Arthur Davis of Poughkeepsie; Mrs. Grace Clinton of New Paltz; Mrs. John J Formosa and Katherine Clinton of New York city.
