Leonore M. Mernit Abbe, 81, of Holiday City West, Berkeley, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in the Bronx, she lived in Queens County, N.Y., before moving to Holiday City West 23 years ago. She was a staff assistant to the vice president at Value Line Inc., New York City, for 11 years, retiring in 1983. Leonore was a past president, secretary and treasurer for the Jewish Social Club of Toms River. She was a member of the Holiday City West Woman's Club and the Berkeley Democratic Club. She was also a past member of the Flushing Reformed Temple, Queens.
She is survived by her husband, Berkeley Councilman Nathan Abbe; and her daughters, Meryl and her husband Arthur Roschwalb of Bayside, Queens, and Alyce Abbe of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
The family will receive friends from noon Friday until the service at 12:30 p.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
