Jane Avery Price married Capt. Thomas Edwin Reagan, U.S. Army, about 1942. She and Thomas had a son, Thomas Edwin Reagan, Jr., born in Palo Pinto County, Texas in April 1943.

Capt. Thomas was killed in action in France on Aug. 1, 1944. His body was returned to the United States and buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Jane remarried on Aug. 5, 1946 to Wesley McCoy Platt, who had been captured by the Japanese on Wake Island on 23 December 1941 and held as a prisoner of war until Japan surrendered in August 1945. Wesley and Jane had a daughter, Valerie. Wesley adopted Thomas Edwin Reagan, Jr., who was severely afflicted with polio. Wesley's personal attention to Thomas' care resulted in Thomas learning to walk.

When the Korean War broke out, Colonel Wesley McCoy Platt was transferred to Korea. He left Jane, Thomas, age 8, and Valerie, age 4, in Falls Church, Va. to await his return. In September, 1951, Jane became a war widow for the second time when Colonel Platt was killed in action in Kangwon Province, Korea. His body was returned to the United States and buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Fifty years later, Jane was laid to rest by Wesley in Arlington National Cemetery in 2001.
