Funeral services for Lee Duane Huffstedtler, 88, of Muskogee will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, April 25 at Grandview Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Mills officiating. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home. Lee Duane Huffstedtler was born July 26, 1919 in Preemption Township, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Jennie Edna (Purdy) Huffstedtler and died April 21, 2008 in Muskogee, OK. On February 17, 1951 he married Colleen Horton in San Diego, California. He enlisted in the United States Navy in December 1936, trained at Great Lakes Training Facility in Illinois, served part of commissioning crew U.S.S. Yorktown (CV-5) in 1937, served in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam era. He also served in Aleutian Islands, China, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Japan from 1953-1956. Lee received retirement from active duty as Chief Aviation Machinist Mate in 1957 and full retirement in 1966. He retired with numerous decorations and was a member of U.S.S. Yorktown Club, V.F.W. Post 474, Fleet Reserve Association and American Legion. He was a member of Grandview Baptist Church, retired from First Baptist Church as building supervisor and MRMC as plant mechanic. Lee "D" was a loyal patron of "Andy's Coffee Club" located at Andy's Convenience Store by Davis Air Field in Muskogee, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Jim and Sheldon.Survivors include his wife, Colleen A. Huffstedtler of Muskogee, OK; children, Robert Lee Huffstedtler of Texas, Gail Lee Hurn of Florida, Cindy Lee Wise of Muskogee, OK, Becky Lee Huffstedtler of Muskogee, OK, four grandchildren, Kristolyn Lee, Robert Lee, Stephen Dwayne Ezell, David Lee Partain, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mark Hill, Steve Wise, Kim Crissler, Jimmy Hurn, Miles Beverage and Wayne Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Eric Taylor, Joe Taylor, Fred Truster and Fred Brown.
