The son of Homer and Jessie Mae Sallis was born on February 28, 1942, in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. He attended school in Fort Gibson. He united with Four Mile Branch Church at an early age. On April 17, 2008, an angel of grace came and bore the spirit of William "Bill" Homer Sallis away to a land that is free from the sorrows of this world.Bill leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Pauletta; one son, Billy, Jr. and Stephanie Sallis; four daughters, Tina Sallis (John), Terrilynn and Jimmy Potts, Debra Sallis, and Summer Sallis (Tony); two step-daughters, Sharon and Lashelle White; seven sisters, Elnora and Dave Gold, Elizabeth Reagor, Ruby and Alvin Cole, Kathleen and Ary Johnson, Edna and John Bryant, Linda and Lloyd West, and Evelyn and James Wood; three aunts, Essie M. Riddle, Bertha Sallis, and Gracie Sallis; along with a host of grandchildren, two great-grandsons, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. His son, Charles Jeffery, his mother, father, and three brothers preceded him in death.Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2008 at Four Mile Branch Baptist Church in Fort Gibson with Rev. Walter Brown, Sr., Rev. Tommy Lee McNac and Rev. Walter Brown, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Four Mile Branch Cemetery.
