Kittie B. Payne was born June 25, 1847, in Monroe County, Kentucky.

She obeyed the gospel and became a Christian in 1871 and has lived a faithful Christian, making God's Word a daily study and trying to follow its teaching.

In August, 1892, she was married to Smith B. Maxey, of Tompkinsville, KY., who died about one year later.

Several years later she was married to Robert Boyd, who died after about 10 years, leaving her a widow again. After the death of Mr. Boyd she made her home with her sister, Mrs. Sarah R. Padgett, for several months and with her niece, Mrs. B. Frank Lowery, of Davenport, Nebr., then with her sister, Mrs. Ibbie Bennett, of Rockport, Mo., for four years, when she came in October, 1917, to again live with her niece, Mrs. B. Frank Lowery, with whom she made her home until she died, January 8, 1922, at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 13 days.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ibbie Bennett of Rockport, Mo., and Mrs. Matilda H. Bartley, of Rolla, Kans., and several nephews and nieces. Neither of the sisters were able to be present for the funeral.

She was injured in a cyclone which destroyed her father's house in Kentucky in 1890. These injuries caused her much suffering in her last days and contributed to the cause of her death. "Aunt Kittie," as she was familiarly known, will be missed by a large number of friends, but who feel assured that she has ceased from suffering.

Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ on Tuesday afternoon by C.E. Plank of Barada, Nebraska and the body laid to rest in the Davenport Cemetery on the same lot with that of her sister, Mrs. Sarah R. Padgett.
