Steve Crenshaw, 61, Buried Here Tuesday
Funeral services for Steve P. Crenshaw, 61, were held at the Scio Christian Church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, The Rev. V. L. Loucks of the local Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery near this city. The Lowe Mortuary, Scio and Lebanon directed the funeral.
Mr. Crenshaw died at the home of his son Lloyd in Sweet Home Sunday afternoon following a illness of some time. He had been up until a few days prior to his passing. At the rites here which were largely attended, Mrs. Loucks and Mrs. Glen Thurston sang accompanied by Mrs. R. L. Kirby. Pallbearers were John Shepherd, Larry Gorman, R.H. McDonald, Fred Sommer, W. A. Gilkey and Frank Dewall, long time neighbors of deceased.
Survivors include the widow, Jennie Crenshaw and the following sons and daughters; Lloyd and Floyd Crenshaw, Sweet Home, Ore., Carol, Oswald and Clyde Crenshaw and Mrs. Clifford Baxter and Mrs. Frank Klaisner, Westfir, Oregon; four grandchildren,a brother, five sisters and seven half-sisters and half-brothers and a stepmother.
Born in Texas April 27, 1879, he affiliated with the Methodist Church at the age of 25 and retained membership until his death. For 10 years he was farming and growing livestock in eastern Oregon, locating near Scio in 1921 and made his home in the Riverview locality thereafter, continuing farming. He had been active in the local farm union movement at Riverview.
