The Elwood Call-Leader, Aug. 3, 1951

Charles C. Noe, 74, living three miles east and one half mile south of Elwood on route 1 Frankton, died Thursday night at 11:15 o'clock following an illness of five weeks. Mr. Noe had been ill with pneumonia and also suffered a stroke.

Born July 23, 1877, in Kirklin, he was the son of William and Amanda Noe. In 1901, he married Miss Minnie Jones. She died 26 years ago. Mr. Noe was a farmer.

Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Marie Wolfe, Mrs. Esther Wolfe, Mrs. Dorothy Wolfe of Indianapolis; Mrs. Viola Niccum and Mrs. Nellie Ballinger of Elwood; Mrs. Mary Smith of Muncie, and Miss Elsie Noe at home, a son Eugene Noe of New York City; 36 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The body will be returned at 5 o'clock this evening to the residence from the Clark Chapel, where friends may call.

The body will then be taken to Grace Methodist church at 12 o'clock Monday where funeral rites will be held at 2 o'clock. The pastor, Rev. Harold Thrasher, will officiate.

Burial will be made in the Spencer cemetery at Sheridan.
