Lowell W. Moore, born Sept. 1, 1917, to A.A. and Anna (Thompson) Moore, died May 4, 2008.
He married Beatrice Beeler on Jan. 16, 1943, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 2005.
Lowell was a graduate of Harrisburg Township High School and an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He operated Moore's Texaco Service Station at 100 W. Poplar St. in Harrisburg for many years.
He is survived by sisters, Anna Lee Rae of Glendale, Ariz. and Wilma Nell Perry of Eldorado; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Rollie (Ethel) Moore of Harrisburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Lowell was preceded in death by siblings, John Albert, Rollie, Bernie, Billy, Evelyn Rose and Charles Moore.
Lowell was cremated as to his wishes and a graveside service will precede burial of his cremated remains at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Judith Beyler officiating. There will be no visitation at Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home; those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
