RUSHVILLE, Ill. - Services for Russell V. Sims, 73, of Rushville, who died Tuesday morning (July 10, 1973) in his home, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Worthington Funeral Home. The Rev. Wesley Trendle will officiate. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.
Mr. Sims was born in Huntsville Dec. 23, 1899, a son of Perry and Mabel Milby Sims. He was a retired school teacher and a veteran of World War I. He was an active race horse announcer, the athletic announcer for Rushville High School sporting events and had been employed by the Rushville Truck Lines.
He was the last of his family. A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be left at the Worthington Funeral Home.
