Funeral Held Sunday For Mrs. Mabel Sims

Mrs. Mabel Sims, 75, died Friday morning in the O'Neal Nursing home,

where she had been a patient for several months.

Funeral services were held on Sunday at 1 p.m., at the First Methodist church,

with the Rev. J. A. Mason officiating. Burial was in the Rushville cemetery.

Mabel Lovi Milby was born in Huntsville township, Schuyler county, Illinois, December 15th, 1877.

She was joined in holy matrimony to Perry A Sims, Dec 28, 1898.

To this union was born one son, Russell V. Sims.

She was a daughter of Nathaniel and Lois Campbell Milby. Almost her entire lifetime was lived in Schuyler county. She attended the Rushville schools. Early in life she became a member of the Shiloh Methodist church, where her membership still remains. Until her health failed she was much interested and active in the ladies organizations of the church, and was also at the time of her death a member of the Royal Guard Sunday school class of the Rushville Methodist church.

Eva Shores Logan whose mother passed away in her childhood, spent much time in Mrs. Sims' home, where her position closely approached that of foster daughter.

Mrs. Sims lived a life that will be a fine example and influence to those who survive her. Thru all her suffering, her faith in God remained steadfast. Besides her son Russell, and Eva Shores Logan, she is survived by a number of cousins and a host of friends.
