MARTHA JANE COBB, of Memphis and Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at age 97. Mrs. Cobb, born in Memphis in 1910 as Martha Jane Dickinson,survived her younger sister, Estelle Dickinson Corrigan. Martha Jane, daughter of Estelle and John Dickinson, was educated at Hutchinson School before attending Rosary College in Chicago. She was introduced in 1930 as a Debutante and married soon afterward to Robert R. Ellis, Jr., a Memphis pharmaceutical executive. In 1957, she married Little Rock business executive Raymond Rebsamen. Her final marriage was to the Honorable Judge Osro Cobb. Mrs. Cobb was a member of numerous organizations including the Gray Ladies of WWII, The Junior League, Tuesday Study Club, The Little Club, Memphis Country Club, Memphis Hunt & Polo Club, Little Rock Country Club, and the Anthesis Club. She was an active member for years of the Little Rock Garden Club and a Life Member of The Dixon Gallery. Mrs. Cobb is survived by her daughter Mrs. Suzanne Mallory (W. Neely Mallory, Jr.) and her son Robert R. Ellis III (Mary Adams Ellis); two grandsons, W. Neely Mallory III (Linda) and Robert E. Mallory (Leslie) and five great grandsons. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at St. Louis Catholic Church with celebration of Holy Mass following at 1:30 p.m. Private burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
