EDEN Garner Coolidge Brown, Sr., 78, of 212 Smith Acres Road, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

The service will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2002 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Trent Wall and Rev. Terry Schultz will be officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery .

Mr. Brown was born in Spray and worked in Fieldcrest Mills cutting bedspreads. AWorld War II Army Veteran, where Mr. Brown was a corporal with the 831st Bombardment Squadron, 485th Bombardment Group, Battles were at Rome - ARNO; Northern France; Southern France, North Apennines; Rhineland; PO Valley Air Offensive Balkans EAMET Campaign Medal with seven Bronze service Stars; Good Conduct Medal AR 600-68; Distinguished unit Badge GO 29HQ 15th AF, also a life time member of the D.A.V. He attended Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is survived by wife, June Biggs Brown of the home; son, Garner C. Brown, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Greensboro; daughters, Brenda Eanes and husband, Bennie of Eden, Jeanette Vernon of Eden, Wendy Harris and husband, Lee of Eden; step-sons, Mike Biggs and Tim Biggs, both of Eden; step-daughter, Toni Bullins of Mayodan; brother, Tuttle Brown and his wife, Opal of Eden; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Tamara Biggs; sister, Ida Grogan; father and mother, William and Maude Brown.
