Azel Lee Blodgett, 97, of Grants Pass died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Fair View Transitional Health Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, with the Revs. John White and JC Holden presiding. Contributions may be made to Grants Pass Christian Singles in care of Josephine Hull, 125 Covey Lane, Grants Pass, OR 97527.

He was born May 5, 1902, to Arthur and Charlotte Blodgett in Williams. He owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. He married his wife, Norene, on Dec. 11, 1980.

Blodgett was active in the Church of God. He was also a volunteer at Grants Pass Christian Singles. He enjoyed inventing machinery, gardening, especially roses, camping, wood carving, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, survivors include four daughters, Pansy Anderson of Grants Pass, Charlotte Robinson of Portland, Marilyn Anderson of Aloha, and Lorie Cash of Grants Pass; two stepdaughters, Faith Holden of Medford and Jean Hunt of Boise, Idaho; a stepson, Kenneth Clark of Medford; 31 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren died before him.
