Thomas (Tommy) Marlan Green passed away at Midland Hospice surrounded by family members on May 31, 2023. Tommy was born on July 21, 1954 to the parentage of Samuel Allen Green and Maralee Elizabeth Webber-Green in Topeka, Kansas.

Tommy was a lifelong resident of Topeka, where he attended Belvoir Grade School, East Topeka Junior High School, and Highland Park High School. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1972 and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Washburn University.

Tommy worked for the State Hospital soon after graduating college until its closing. He then became a disability examiner for the State of Kansas until his retirement due to a heart condition. Later on, he dedicated many years as a foster grandparent at Williams Science & Fine Art School. He became known as Grandpa Green to all and was deeply loved by both the children and the staff. In 2022, Tommy was honored as the King for the East Topeka Senior Center.

Tommy attended New Hope Community Baptist Church, where he was a founding member. He held various roles within the church, including Sr. Deacon, trustee, choir member, and Sunday school teacher. Tommy's love and devotion for his church was well known, and whenever there was something to be done for the church, he was always one of the first to volunteer.

Tommy will be remembered by everyone for many reasons, but in particular for his deep love for his children, grandchildren, and family. He will be remembered for helping anyone who was in need. His great hugs and that big smile will forever be cherished. Whenever you asked him how he was doing, no matter how he was feeling, his response was always, "I'M BLESSED."

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Maralee Green, his brother, Allen Edward Green Sr. and the love of his life, Deanna Fay Porter.

Tommy is survived by daughter, Angela LaVolle Green of Topeka, Ks.; sons, Anthony (Farai) Marlan Green and Timothy Marlan Green of Topeka, KS; grandchildren, Ja'Kai Thomas Green, Thandiwe Fay Green and Thabiso Rosemary Marlan Green; sisters, Bertha "Biddie" (Gerald) Green-Thompson of Midwest City, OK., and Marva Green-Williams of Topeka, KS.; brothers, Samuel (Mary) Lee Green of Springfield, MO., and Marvin L. Green Sr. of Topeka, KS., and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, some of whom were raised like sisters and brothers, as well as many, many friends, will all miss him so much."

Tommy's GREAT work on earth is over and we can all say " WELL DONE " and they are rejoicing in Heaven with the " AWESOME REUNION "
