He distinguished himself by his energetic performances, outlandish outfits, and platinum blond pompadour hairstyle. Sometimes referred to as "The White Knight of Soul," this blue-eyed singer performed with his band, CC Riders. Recorded 7 albums with 6 #1 hits. Made numerous television appearances. His original and most popular song was "Last Kiss," first released in 1961. Later in life, he abandoned performing to become a Christian Minister. Succumbed to cancer after a long illness.
