Emma Etta MURPHREE was born in 1876 to Levi Thomas MURPHREE and Sarah Elzie GLOVER in Oneonta, Blount, Alabama - the 3rd of 12 children, 8 girls and 4 boys. On 4 March 1894 she married Jesse Pliney Bellew in Oneonta, Blount County, Alabama. In 1885 they moved to Mountain Peak, Ellis Texas where they raised four boys and one girl. Emma Etta died 29 June 1930 of cancer, survived by her widower, sons Joseph Patrick, William Edward, Benjamin Clayton, Frank Gaines & wife Jewel Metze, and daughter Oleta, all of Mountain Peak.
