Mrs. Alexander has (sic) been critically ill for about three weeks. She had trouble with a tooth and had it treated. The gum became diseased and blood poison set in. Dr. Alexander was alarmed about his wife from the first. He had several of the best physicians in the city attend her, but the poison was insidious. It did its deadly work swiftly and surely. Day by day the beloved wife and mother became worse. She entered into rest this morning.
Mrs. Alexander was born in York County, South Carolina. She was a daughter of Dr. Campbell of York County. She was born in 1865. Her life was spent in this section. She married early in life and was the mother of 11 children all of whom survive. With such a family of children her life was necessarily spent at home. She gave herself with unselfish devotion to her husband, home and children.
She was an ideal wife and mother, a woman of noble nature, of sweet dispostion, of high purpose. She was loved and esteemed by all who knew her. She was a life long member of the Presbyterian church and the strength of her religious faith was the dominating influence in the training of her children.
The funeral service will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at the church. The burial will take place at 12 o'clock.
