Mr. Dwight Moody Alexander, age 79, of 5404 Providence Road West, died the evening of September 27, 1979, at Hawthorne Nursing Center after several months of illness. Mr. Alexander, son of the late Dr. H. Q. Alexander and Annie L. Campbell Alexander, was born November 11, 1899, in Mecklenburg County. He was one of the oldest members of Providence Presbyterian Church which he attended all his life. A beloved member of the Providence community, he cherished his family and his many friends there. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Saturday, at Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. G. Wallace Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vernon Caldwell Alexander; one son, David Caldwell Alexander, Salisbury; three daughters, Mrs. Dianne A. Wagstaff, Raleigh, Mrs. Cathy A. Walker, Charlotte, Mrs. Carol A. Crosby, Anchorage, Alaska; seven sisters, Mrs. Jessie A. Lydic, Matthews, Mrs. Frances A. Teal, Temple Hills, Maryland, Mrs. Ruth A.W. Nicholson, Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Margaret A. McArver, Gastonia, Mrs. Alice A. Furr, Miami, Florida, Mrs. Nancy A. Winn, Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Quincy A. Hodge, Atlanta, Georgia, nine...
