Ralph Wayne Axtle, 75, died Thursday, May 8, 2008,in a Lake Charles Hospital.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. The Rev. Thomas Vellappallil officiated. Burial followed in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, La.

He was a native of Alexandria and had been a resident of the Sulphur area since 1958. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was involved in Perpetual Adoration. He was a U.S. Marines veteran, having served in the Korean War.

Ralph started his education career teaching at Frasch Elementary and later served as Principal of Vincent Settlement Elementary and D.S. Perkins Elementary Schools where he retired 20 years ago. He enjoyed spending his free time deer hunting.
