She was born on February 2, 1922 in Hogue, Kentucky, daughter of the late Virgil Rutherford and Laura Effie Denham Adams. She was a homemaker and a school teacher for Lindsey Wilson College. She loved to quilt and socialize with her Krafty Crowd at Science Hill United Methodist Church where she was a member.
She is survived by two sisters, Lucy Mullins Thompson and her husband Joe and Pauline Mofield and her husband Kenneth both of Cincinnati, Ohio and several nieces and nephews of whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Ollis, Hoy, Delmer, Schuyler and Clyde Adams and one sister, Arno Rose and her husband Charlie.
A funeral service was held at 12 noon Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill with Bro. Troy Poff officiating.
Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery.
