Mr. Dirks was born in Denver on Nov. 30, 1959. He was a computer specialist and a professional musician, specializing in stringed instruments. He entertained military troops for the Department of Defense in Saudi Arabia and Korea. He was a music teacher and often donated his time to teach music to children. He performed with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and with Dizzy Gillespie. He recorded the Deja Vu compact disc with jazz trumpeter Steve Wiest. He was a member of the Denver Musicians Association. Survivors include mother Adele; sisters Wanda of Florida, Denise of Westminster; grandparents Glenn and Zelda Dirks of Iowa; his musician family Pop, Wayne Prince and Bros.
