From the SOUTH BEND (IN) TRIBUNE, May 9, 2008:

MISHAWAKA - Dick L. Disbrow, 81, passed away on Wednesday May 7 at 5:37 p.m. in Memorial Hospital South Bend, after an illness. Dick was born on July 30, 1926, in LaPorte, IN, the son of the late George and Amanda (Seitz) Disbrow. On October 19, 1970, in Rockville, Maryland, he married Sue Berkheiser.

Dick is survived by his wife of 37 years; three daughters, Nikki Comstock of Panama City, FL, Paula (Mike) Disbrow Nate of Bremen, IN, Joyce (Jeff) Whiteman of South Bend; four grandchildren, Cal and Antonio Nate, Chad and Valerie Whiteman; two great-grandchildren, Alainah and Madelyn Nate; and one sister, Barbara "Bobbie" Heavner of Monticello, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Dick was employed as a truck driver and a dispatcher for 45 years, working last for AmeriSource in Mishawaka. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran.
