Edith Altheimer died at the age of 65, at the Baptist Medical Center. She was the daughter of Daisy Lowe and the Rev. Leon Lowe. She had recieved her PH.D. in Health Care Management from Century University of Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1996, after 23 years of Leadership and several other outstanding accomplishments. She retired on December 31st, 2007 as the Chief Social Work Service, at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. She was a Member of Community Planning for HIV Prevention and the Arkansas Division of Mental Health Culturally Diversity Committee. Also served with the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network and CARELINK Advisory Board, plus the Racial Cultural and Diversity Council. She belonged to the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the past Chairperson of the Woman's Missionary Society for 8 years. She also was past President of the Little Rock Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was survived by: A daughter, Karen Green Irving , 2 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of Portland, Oregon.
