Willi&n. Ashley, 49, World War veteran was found dead in bed this morning about 6 o'clock this morning at his home, 724 New York Avenue, by his son, Ronald, 16.
An autopsy will be conducted late this afternoon, it was reported.
He was a. life long resident of the city and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ashley. He was a member of the local veterans organization and was a communicant of Notre Dame Church.
Surviving him besides his wife are seven children, namely, Ronald, 16; Norman, 14; Dorothy, 12; Gilbert, 10; Melvin, 7; Lorraine, 3, and Bernard, 1; also two sisters, Miss Agnes Ashley and Mrs. Charles McWilliams, this city; one brother, Edward; two half-brothers, John B. Ashley and Joseph of Spokane, Wash; a half-sister, Miss Minnie Ashley.
Mr. Ashley was well known in Ogdensburg and had a wide circle of friends who will deeply regret the news of his death.
